Lesson #1. What do you need in your bag?

As a beginner, it is not always easy to pack your tennis bag before practice or a match. Here is a list of the main elements you need and additional items that could be useful as well.

Essentials:

  • Tennis bag - Big enough to contain the next elements
  • Rackets (with strings on) - 2 rackets are better in case you break your string
  • Water bottle - Hydration comes first!
  • Tennis balls - A can of new balls can be useful for a tennis match
  • Hat/Visor - For sunny days
Additional elements:
When you reach an intermediate level in tennis some items may be as important.
  • Towel - Especially if you sweat a lot
  • Snacks - Bananas or cereal bars preferred
  • Overgrips - Used overgrips may be uncomfortable or hurt your hand, so it is wiser to change it often.
  •  Sunscreen - If you play outdoors most of the time
  • Extra pair of socks and shirts - After a tough day on the court. Better be prepared!
All of these items can be decisive in the winning process. Now you have all the knowledge to enjoy your hitting!

  1. Love the photo- grabbed my attention. Good way of breaking down the essentials vs. what you'll need at an intermediate level.

  2. I agree, having a unprepared bag is like hitting the gym without headphones. Great idea to include snacks!
